The Moza GS GT racing wheel is another of Moza’s top line wheels. This formula style racing wheel has been receiving some positive feedback and marks another gem produced by the Chinese based company.
Our last review of a Moza wheel was the Moza Racing FSR Formula wheel. Our verdict was that this was a beast of a wheel. Both wheels are pretty similar however the FSR boasts a digital dashboard for greater immersion.
With rising status in the sim racing world Moza have partnered with the F1 arcade brand with their equipment spearheading the chains driving experience.
This article will look at whether the Moza GS GT can match up or will stand alone as a great wheel in its own right.

Features and Design
Look of the Moza GS GT
As far as wheels go the GS GT is a nice looking wheel. Sleek but with splashes of colours across the surface of the wheel that is a sight to admire. We personally like the colour scheme with the mainly black construction. The colours around the rotaries give the wheel a vibrant look. However the jagged patterns take away some of the sleekness from the rest of the wheel.
Comfort and ergonomics
The GS GT is a 300 mm diameter wheel, ideal for formula style racing. Weighing 2kg the wheel has some weight to it in hand, although this is far from noticeable when placed on the wheel base.
Materials and build quality
Moza have built the main chassis of the wheel with forged carbon fibre. The grips are perforated leather. There has been a version of the wheel which had incorporated alcantara grips which may still be in circulation. Overall the wheel is built to a high standard and capable of lasting the rigours of hours of use.
Buttons and paddle shifters
The Feel of the buttons can be an important feature for some sim racers and the GS GT doesn’t let down here. Incorporating mechanical switches pressing the buttons is very satisfying. The buttons are backlit and have a number of customisable colour options.
The buttons are all within good reach with the rotaries ideally placed. Cleverly the thumb encoders also act as a button input.
When engaging the shifts they do produce a loud click and Moza have provided a set of dampeners for noise reduction. The double clutch paddles have mechanical tension for clutch use but can also be mapped for alternative inputs.

Performance and functionality
Installation and setup of the Moza GS GT
Installing the Moza GS GT wheel is a simple straight forward process. Placement of the wheel on the wheel base through the effortless NRG quick release in the inital part of the process. Following this configurations are made though the Moza Pithouse software. A number of changes can be made including the backlit buttons and button selection assignment.
Compatibility
As with all Moza wheels at the minute the GS GT is only compatible with the Moza wheel bases.

Comparison between the Moza GS GT and FSR wheel
Both wheels look very similar however there are a few differences that exist. The most obvious being the display screen on the FSR. This does give the FSR an edge in the authentic and immersion factor.
Noticeable from the plates is the forged carbon fibre on the GS GT and the toray carbon fibre on the FSR. The FSR again trumps the GS GT here as the more authentic look to real life racing wheels.
In addition the FSR has a vast range of buttons to be mapped which the GS GT can not match. Some sim racers may prefer the Size of the GS GT which is is bigger and is best suited to GT racing but still ideal for Formula racing categories.
When it comes to the paddle shifters the FSR steams ahead as the shutters are quite in comparison to the GS GT even with the supplied dampners. So with this in mind the decision is truly yours as to which features and design is more suited to you. The FSR comes in at £200 more than the GS GT.
Final verdict on the Moza GST
The GS GT is a fantastic middle of the range wheel. The wheel has everything required for all levels of sim racers to be more than satisfied. Our personal preference would be the FSR but you would not go wrong purchasing the GS GT.
Moza are really pushing to the front of the grid with their releases and it is interesting to see their line of development in the near future. As for now, the GS GT is a popular wheel amongst wheel sim racers. Be sure to leave a comment below if you have or will be purchasing the wheel yourself and your experience with it.
